Trustees from the Wisbech based Paragon Charitable Foundation recently presented The West Dereham Ward at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with a selection of games and puzzles. The items had been specifically chosen by the team at the West Dereham Ward to support patients with what is referred to as a reconditioning process by keeping patients engaged in activities either individually or within groups. The aim is that patients can perhaps be discharged from hospital sooner than would otherwise have been the case.
Ward Manager Sarah Champion commented “Our staff have really been working hard to help keep patients engaged and active in hospital to stop deconditioning and all the activities will really help”
The Paragon Charitable Foundation which was established by local business couple Gary and Susan Robinson in May 2022 continues to raise funds directly supporting individuals and groups within Wisbech and the local community with vital products and services. Anyone wishing to apply for support can contact the charity by email to info@paragoncharityfoundation.co.uk
